Betting and Casino Tips: Maths, Budget and Limits
These tips are general maths and good practice for sports betting and casino games. Figures are standard values for the games described, not data about Azimutbet.
1. Set the budget before you open the site
Decide on an amount you can lose without affecting bills or savings, and a time limit for the session. Split a monthly budget into sessions – for example 200 a month as four sessions of 50 – and stop when a session's amount is gone. Do not top up mid-session.
2. Know the house edge
| Game / bet | House edge |
|---|---|
| European roulette (one zero) | 2.70% |
| American roulette (0 and 00) | 5.26% |
| Baccarat – Banker (5% commission) | about 1.06% |
| Baccarat – Player | about 1.24% |
| Baccarat – Tie (8:1) | about 14.4% |
| Blackjack with basic strategy | about 0.5–1%, depending on table rules |
For slots, the RTP shown in the game's info screen tells you the long-run return: an RTP of 96% means a theoretical edge of 4%. RTP says nothing about a single session – volatility does. High-volatility slots pay rarely but larger amounts; low-volatility slots pay small amounts more often.
3. Read the bookmaker's margin from the odds
Turn decimal odds into probabilities with 1 ÷ odds. On a tennis match priced 1.90 / 1.90: 1 ÷ 1.90 = 52.6% for each player, 105.3% in total. The 5.3% above 100% is the bookmaker's margin. Compare markets: the lower the total, the less you pay per bet.
4. Accumulators multiply the margin too
Each selection in an accumulator carries its own margin. With a 5% margin per leg, a three-leg accumulator returns roughly 0.95³ ≈ 86% of stakes in the long run, a six-leg one about 74%. Big odds look attractive, but the expected cost grows with every leg.
5. Betting systems do not change the odds
The Martingale (double after each loss) needs a long bankroll: starting at 1 unit, six losses in a row cost 1+2+4+8+16+32 = 63 units, and the seventh bet would be 64 units – to win back 1 unit. Table limits or your budget usually end the sequence first. No progression removes the house edge.
6. Past results do not predict the next one
A roulette spin or a card shuffle has no memory. Five reds in a row do not make black "due" – the probability on a European wheel is still 18/37.
7. Live betting and cash-out
Live odds move fast, and the operator's FAQ notes that "odds may change before a bet is confirmed". Check the accepted odds in your bet history. A cash-out offer is priced with a margin as well, so it is usually worth slightly less than the bet's fair value.
8. Checks specific to Azimutbet
- Payment methods, limits and processing information are shown only in the account's financial section. Look before you deposit.
- Read the bonus rules on azimutbet.com before accepting any offer – see our bonus page for what to look for.
- If you use the Android APK, download it only from azimutbet.com/en/mobile, not from third-party sites.
- Check that your country is accepted in the operator's terms. If it is excluded, an account can be closed and winnings withheld.
9. Warning signs
Chasing losses, betting money meant for bills, borrowing to gamble, hiding it from others or feeling restless when not playing are signs to stop. Free, confidential help is available, for example from Gamblers Anonymous or GamCare (UK), or a local support service in your country.
